Sunrise is extravagant,
So is her saddening fall—
A woman without pride
Cannot rise at all.
Once in a time,
So close to our tears,
The young women’s arched, proud shoulders
Stuck out against her darkest fears…
We watched our words;
Like needles they poked, just to stab…
She was the class experiment, science lab.
The rumor was forgotten; except to the girl so bleak.
Not guilty,
Is her claim,
Ignored…
Now she is weak.
Then we watched, as she cowers and cries.
Why does our world listen
To absurd and disparaging lies?
She cannot hold the eye
Of her friends that now hold her captive—
Maybe she will find…
ESCAPE!
As the young girl pulls away from life’s tether,
Sunrise to her will never again come.
Our stabbing words clouded her weather.
