Calypso

Stars collide
Not you and I
My heart pounds
This is what I realize…

I watch over you
As Christ watches over me,
You ripped my heart out--
Calypso, drowning your sorrows--
cannot set you free.

Expect--
No condolences…
Receive only shame
Look deep inside,
Who’s to blame?

Your words, Your actions
Set yourself apart
Doomed for eternity,
Calypso? Where is my heart?

Forced to accept,
A world so bright!
The sun is radiant
But we are the night.

As I wash to the shore,
The moon looks down,
You wear your skin…
No words, caressing thoughts-
Caressing sounds…

Heart sought,
Never found,
Saturated by you…
I drowned.
