You see very well,
But you fail to listen
This makes you blind
You see happiness
But only as a constant
This makes you sorrow
You see the past
But you attempted to change someone at the present
This makes you no part of any future…
For when a tree stands tall on an barren plain
Asking the world
Why ‘stick it to the man’,
When one can become their own?

Black
You should fear me
For in sun’s high arc
Shadow
In the blackest night
Invisible
Define me as a shape
Shaping your faith and fate
A wraith of the past
A shape of me
No missing lines
A whole shape
Lacking shading
You might run into me
For you like a star
Dazzling
Yet not shining forever…
Blackness is close
So when your light fades,
Blackness is a shield
Forever strong
Will I protect thee?
For in sun’s high arc
Shadow
In the blackest night
Invisible
Define me as a shape
Shaping your faith and fate
A wraith of the past
A shape of me
No missing lines
A whole shape
Lacking shading
You might run into me
For you like a star
Dazzling
Yet not shining forever…
Blackness is close
So when your light fades,
Blackness is a shield
Forever strong
Will I protect thee?

Lockdown
To teach trust,
One must lose it all
To learn to stand,
One must first fall
To search for a destination
One must write the map
To travel around salvation
One must lean forward, but fall back
To journey, to question
One must trust thy inside
To lean on others
One must put fate on the line
To remember
That trust is a lock
One must find the key
By learning from the clock
One must lose it all
To learn to stand,
One must first fall
To search for a destination
One must write the map
To travel around salvation
One must lean forward, but fall back
To journey, to question
One must trust thy inside
To lean on others
One must put fate on the line
To remember
That trust is a lock
One must find the key
By learning from the clock
